Aivee Hsu Trio — ’Tis Autumn
Vocalist and guitarist Aivee Hsu is joined by pianist Yuchen Wu and upright bassist Han Hsieh for two sets at Sappho Live Jazz.
Named after “’Tis Autumn,” the opening track from Hsu’s album But Beautiful, the program moves through jazz standards, ballads, and Brazilian repertoire, with a focus on melodic interplay, rhythmic nuance, and spontaneous conversation.
Familiar songs take on new shapes through subtle shifts in phrasing, groove, and improvisation, allowing the trio to move freely between arranged material and the moment-to-moment exchange that defines live jazz.
