Born in Argentina and of Italian descent\, Tom relocated to California twenty years ago\, where he’s been infusing his music with a rich\, worldly perspective.Tom‘s music journey has seen him achieve international acclaim. His single “What Are You Saying Man” from the album Escape Into Life has garnered significant attention\, being featured on MTV Hits Latin America and VH1 Megahits. His guitar playing has also been recognized on a broader scale\, featured in the Emmy-winning television documentary L.A. Rebellion: A Cinematic Movement – Artbound and on the award-winning feature film Young King.In addition to his original work\, Tom is an integral part of some of Southern California’s most renowned tribute acts. Mr. Boatman grew up in Dallas Texas U.S.A. and started playing in pop and R&B bands at the age of 15. In the early 80’s\, he was a member of the University of Texas at Dallas Jazz Band. Throughout the 80’s and 90’s Mark performed with several bands in the Dallas area where he honed his drumming skills in the areas of pop\, rock\, blues\, country\, jazz and funk. Mark moved to the San Francisco Bay Area in 1998 where he began playing with blues bands as well as small jazz groups performing for private functions and at nightclubs throughout the Bay Area.\nIn 2004 Mr. Boatman move to Singapore where he became well known for his excellent drumming skills. He performed with many bands in Singapore including: the house band at Jazz@SouthBridge\, The Cromozone Band at Harry’s Bar Boat Quay and The Blues Machine band at The Crazy Elephant Bar Clarke Quay. Mr. Boatman was the house drummer at The Crazy Elephant Bar for 4 years.\nOther noted Singapore based artist Mr. Boatman performed with included singers: Jeanne French\, Rani Singham\, Anne Weerapass\, Melissa Tham and Dawn Ho; pianists: Jeremy Monteiro\, Mei Sheum\, Mario Serio\, Aya Sekine and Don Gomez; bassists: Ignatius Bong\, Marcus Dengate\, Joshua Wan and Christy Smith; saxophonists: Fabian Lim\, Steven Rufus and Nicole Duffell.\nMr. Boatman and another Singapore based drummer\, David McGuire\, opened a successful drum school called Rhythm House in 2007. Mark was a managing partner and teacher at Rhythm House for over ten years until leaving Singapore in 2018.\nMr. Boatman moved to Taichung Taiwan in 2019 and is currently teaching English and playing music with various jazz\, rock and pop bands. Over the last 5 years\, Mr. Boatman has performed at various wine and food festivals in the Taichung area. He also performs at private events including weddings and corporate function. He is a regular member the Drive by Texters band that plays classic rock and blues music from the 1960’s\, 70’s and 80’s at various Taichung restaurants and bars.\n▪︎Trumpet鄭立偉/Leeway\n畢業於東華音樂系碩士班爵士組，師事小號演奏家魏廣晧老師。\n2018及2019年於臺中爵士音樂節比賽獲樂團組冠軍。\n即興演奏中充滿爵士語彙，不乏許多爵士小號名家的影子，但依然保有自己的音色與辨識度，並以流暢的旋律線條聞名於新生代樂手中。近年來活躍於爵士樂場景與音樂祭，曾與黃瑞豐老師、魏廣晧老師、楊曉恩老師、許郁瑛老師、彭郁雯老師、Danny Zanker、Chuck Payne、Bill Molenhof、旅法歌手Hetty Kate、謝明諺老師、林映辰老師、鄭皓文老師、廖柏鈞（樹葉）老師、李世鈞老師、Jonas Ganzemuller、Andy Jaffe、曾增譯老師、陳函章博士等知名爵士樂手合作。現為Andy Jaffe七重奏在台灣巡演時的小號手。參與錄製邱立婷老師的爵士六重奏專輯《交織的平行》入圍2022年第33屆金曲獎及第13屆金音獎。除了演奏爵士樂以外，也曾參與徐佳瑩、Leo王、魏如萱、靈魂沙發、巴奈、問題總部、客語創作歌手米莎的樂曲錄製。曾擔任Pisco、椅子樂團、淺堤、傻子與白癡與溫蒂漫步等樂團的巡迴演唱會樂手。近年來與佳評如潮的民生電氣 Minelectro Inc.旗下DJ合作數次。\nLeeway Cheng\, a trumpet player who was born in Taichung city. Studied jazz in Taiwan and played with greatest players of the Taiwan jazz scene such as Terry Minyen Hsieh\, Stacey Wei\, Yu-Ying Hsu\, Shawna Yang\, Andy Jaffe\, Nick Javier\, Fish Huang\, Mike Tseng\, I-Ming Lin and Hope Yeh. Drawn to jazz at an early age\, Josh first apprenticed with the great Bobby Bradford\, renowned for his work with Ornette Coleman and other avant-garde luminaries\, before heading to Indiana University to study with David Baker\, a pioneering giant in the field of jazz education. Josh earned a special commendation from Baker in his final year of study at Indiana University\, a Performer’s Certificate\, awarded only to the most outstanding students in any given year. He later earned his MFA from California Institute of the Arts and his DMA from the University of Southern California. While at CalArts he studied with Wadada Leo Smith\, Charlie Haden\, Larry Koonse\, and Joe LaBarbera; at USC he learned from Bob Mintzer\, Alan Pasqua\, and Vince Mendoza. As a professional\, Josh has been active in the Southern California music scene for 20 years. He has recorded on numerous albums\, notably the late Clare Fischer’s latin jazz album\, “Ritmo!\,” which garnered a Grammy in 2013. In 2020\, he was featured as a soloist on the legendary big band arranger Mike Barone’s last album\, “Brazil.” In that same year\, he was featured on bassist Igor Kogan’s superlative small group album\, “In a Big City\,” which also included multiple Grammy nominated vocalist Tierney Sutton. He is a soloist in Dr. Scott Jeppesen’s Rocky Mountain Jazz Collective\, a modern jazz repertory orchestra based in Montana. From 2000-2003\, he lived in Taipei\, Taiwan\, where he studied Chinese\, worked as a translator\, and was in demand both as a jazz soloist and as a sideman in the Taiwanese pop scene\, playing on various recordings and touring with the great Sticky Rice Band. He has taught extensively at all levels. In 2023 he was appointed jazz trumpet professor at California State University Northridge (CSUN)\, home to one of Los Angeles’s premier jazz departments. Additionally\, since 2015 he has taught a variety of jazz and music theory-related courses at Santa Monica College\, consistently regarded as one of the best community college music programs in greater Los Angeles. His playing is noted for a balance of traditional and modern elements\, and a lyrical combination of freedom and structure.In addition to the trumpet\, Josh is a highly competent pianist and composer. Also evident in his music is the assimilation of classical music influences\, reflecting his years of conservatory study. Garcia is quickly making a name for himself in the Taipei jazz scene. A pianist since the age of five\, he later attended the Stanford University Jazz Residency\, the University of North Texas Jazz Workshop\, the prestigious Berklee College of Music in Boston\, and was awarded the Piano Achievement Award by the Texas State University School of Music. Damian graduated from the world-renowned University of North Texas jazz studies program where he studied piano with Stefan Karlsson\, Michael Palma\, and Dan Hearle. Since graduating he has been an active performer\, and is credited on dozens of studio recordings. He has performed alongside many great musicians including Paquito d’Rivera\, Claudio Roditi\, Wayne Bergeron\, Frank Wess\, Butch Miles\, Bob Mintzer\, John Fedchock\, Taylor Eigsti\, Jamey Aebersold\, Andre Hayward\, Tom Brechtlein\, among many others others. Most recently\, his music has taken him to Japan\, having performed several times among some of the best musicians in Tokyo.\n\n▪︎Yu Jia Liu (Bass)Double bassist and composer Yu Jia Liu studied at National Tainan University of the Arts and the Department of Music at National Dong Hwa University. He was an award-winning student in both institutions and also began working as an instructor in 2015. In 2016\, he was awarded first prize in the Taipei Jazz Rookie Competition. That same year\, he participated in the multi-media cross-border musical “Love” at the National Concert Hall. In 2018\, he began co-planning the “Original Music Tour Project” with German pianist Julian Moreen. In 2019\, he was invited to perform at the Taichung Jazz Festival in Taiwan with the Julian Moreen Quartet. He has performed internationally in Taiwan\, Malaysia\, Singapore\, Germany.爵士低音提琴演奏家、作曲家。學習歷程多元、曾就讀國立台南藝術大學中國音樂學系及國立東華大學音樂系-爵士組、主修低音提琴。曾獲兩廳院最佳Bass手，並於2015年於兩廳院爵士音樂營-研習營開始擔任教師一職，致力於爵士音樂推廣教育以及原創音樂發表。2106年榮獲台北爵士樂壇新秀比賽第一名。同年參與『揮灑烈愛』多媒體跨界音樂劇，於國家音樂廳演出。2018年開始與德裔鋼琴家Julian Moreen共同策劃『原創音樂巡迴演出計畫』並擔 任台灣及亞洲地區總策劃，並以Julian Moreen為首組成Julian MoreenQuartet。2019年隨Julian Moreen Quartet受邀於台灣台中爵士音樂節演出、並策劃亞洲地區交流與展演。同年參與『瘋戲樂』年度大戲《台灣有個好萊塢》擔任樂手一職。演出足跡遍及台灣、馬來西亞、新加坡、德國…等等不同國家。擅長與多元類型團體合作，參與原創發表、電影配樂錄製、專輯錄製、舞蹈、音樂劇、現代劇場…等誇界藝術發表。effery Lin (Drums)Jeffery Lin began studying jazz drums in high school and was immersed in the world of rock and metal music during his college years.
