Please sign your name on the registration form and check the box for your instrument. (If your instrument is not listed\, write it under “Others” at the end of the form.)\n2. Each participant will have time to perform two songs. After two songs\, there will be a rotation of players.\n3. You can discuss the songs you want to play\, including their style and rhythm\, with the other musicians on stage (including the key). If some musicians are unfamiliar with the song\, you can switch to another one until a song that most players know is chosen.\n4. If your instrument requires a microphone for amplification\, please inform the staff before going on stage.\n5. If there are more than five musicians playing the same instrument (starting from the 6th person)\, each musician will only perform one song before rotating. This helps ensure that everyone gets a chance to play. If a new round of performances begins\, the one-song-per-person rule will still apply\, regardless of whether previous musicians have left.\n6. If you wish to perform a jazz-specific section called **”Trading”**\, it is recommended to start with the lead player (the one performing the melody) trading with the drummer. Other instruments can follow the lead player’s cues or decide based on the natural flow of the performance.\n7. When signing up\, each musician must also write down the songs they wish to perform (including the key) in the designated section of the form. However\, musicians who are very familiar with jazz standards do not need to list specific songs.\nIf you have any questions\, feel free to ask the **Host** at the event! We welcome everyone to join us and experience the magic of jazz at Open Jam. Tim has released four albums: Romance in Formosa (2022)\, Empathy (2023)\, Birdwatching (2024)\, and Heartfelt (2025). His latest album\, Heartfelt\, was released by Sony Music Taiwan and recorded with musicians such as Dick Oatts\, Rodney Green\, Jeb Patton\, and David Wong. His albums are highly played on the US jazz charts and Spotify\, with more than 2.5 million plays and more than 100\,000 listeners per month.\n▪︎Julian Wittich is a Taiwanese-Dutch jazz bassist and composer. Born and raised in Taipei\, Taiwan\, Julian began his musical studies with the violin at 7 years old. He soon discovered his appetite for various styles of music\, teaching himself to play the electric bass at age 13 and eventually the double bass at age 16. He then studied in Amsterdam\, The Netherlands\, with some of Europe’s most prominent jazz bassists\, such as Frans van der Hoeven and Clemens van der Feen. He has also made a name for himself in both the Taiwanese jazz and pop scene\, working with established artists such as JJ Lin and 9m88.\nJulian has most recently completed his Master’s degree at the Manhattan School of Music in 2025\, studying with legendary bassists Buster Williams and Jay Anderson\, and his currently making his mark on the New York jazz scene as an up and coming bassist.\n▪︎At 22\, Willie is an emerging jazz drummer known for his dynamic touch and deep sense of swing. A graduate of the Jazz at Lincoln Center youth programs\, he’s spent nearly a decade performing and has had the opportunity to work with acclaimed artists like Vincent Herring\, Gene Perla\, and Lucy Yeghiazaryan. At times\, the vibe can be reminiscent of the uncluttered ‘sound of the trio’ – but as a quartet this is bolstered by the presence of both piano and guitar in the mix\, with the bow of the contra bass adding a different timbre from time to time.\nAll are seasoned musicians\, drawing influences from a wide variety of artists – thus it would be unwise to list any predominant influences in their performance material.
