Arno Haas (Germany) – Saxophone

is born 1965 in the Black Forest (Germany). School, musical society, first steps in various bands. At the end of the 80s professional musician for 1 year in the air force band Karlsruhe. This experience was one reason for my decision to become a professional musician.

From 1989 to 1994 studies at the Swiss Jazz School at Bern (Switzerland) with Andy Scherrer – a good basis to go further. In 1992, when I met the master of the Blues Sidney Guitar Crusher Selby, I got the first opportunity to go on tour with a professional band. At that time he was accompanied by the Cadillac Blues Band from Freiburg. This project taught me to play and live the Blues. Later I toured across Germany with Guitar Crusher playing with Blues bands from Dortmund and Berlin. „Black Cat Bone“ from Tübingen finally became Guitar Crusher`s accompanying band. By that time I had already been playing together with the Blues singer for 10 years. We gave concerts on numberless stages all over Europe with international stars such as Ricky Lawson, Calvin Owens, Alvin Lee etc. and made recordings.

After having passed the diploma examination at Bern I had my first contact to the musician Jürgen Waidele from Constance. The „Bodensee“ region became my second home. I entered the band „Waidele`s Conversation“, a cult band with funky songs composed by the ingenious band leader. In addition I was member in the „Golden Four Quintet“, a dance and party band. Although I never intended to make this kind of music I realized that I could enlarge my musical horizon which at least was as important as my study. I had to meet the requirements to play solo parts in many different music styles and to prove a stylistic flexibility while maintaining my individual style with the equal use of soprano, alto and tenor sax.

After that CD productions with different  bands and musicians such as Franco Ambrosetti and Peter Herbolzheimer in the field of Jazz or Ex-Rolling Stone Mick Taylor in the Bluesrock sector. In January 1998 I first met the American saxophonist Bob Malach whom I had admired already for a long time. During many many common hours at Zürich and New York he showed me his way to work. Bob Malach created in me the huge motivation to go on working and not to content myself with my achievements.

Studio jobs at home and abroad. worked with: Duke Ellington Orchestra, Paul Kuhn, Helen Schneider, Mick Taylor, Brian Bromberg, Randy Waldman, Tom Saviano, Franco Ambrosetti, Alvin Lee, Bob Malach, Wolfgang Dauner, Tony Lakatos, Ricky Lawson, Calvin Owens, Anke Helfrich, Joo Kraus, Olaf Polziehn, Stuttgart Jazz Orchester, Kosho, Axel Schlosser, Florian Silbereisen, Torsten DeWinkel, Wencke Myhre, Helene Fischer, Rolf Stahlhofen, Karel Gott, Richard Clayderman, Tom Novy, Nubya, Joe Lovano, Göla, Sandra Studer, Jürgen Waidele, Guitar Crusher, Nino DeAngelo, Patrick Lindner, Stefan Mross, Nikolas Simion, Maya Brunner, Samstagabendshow-TV-Orchester, Street Live Family, Polo Hofer, Lokua Kanza, Tony Marshall, Mary Roos, So Kalmery, Henri Dikongué, Wolfgang Haffner, James Moody, Thomas Stabenow, Bert Joris, Jason Wright…
