Sappho Sunday Ska with Tex and the Sun Flower Seed (Japan)

In 2002, TEX & SUN FLOWER SEED exploded onto an unsuspecting Tokyo underground music scene with its unique mixture of radical messages and massive doses of Mestizo, Ska Punk, Cumbia, Patchanka, Punk and raw energy. Since then, the six-piece band has recorded and performed with the likes of Jamaican ska reggae legend trombonist Rico Rodriguez (who performed on their first album) and the famed Basque singer Fermin Muguruza (they’ve toured with him through Europe, and are now his default backing band in Japan). They’ve released six albums, performed multiple times at Fuji Rock Festival, and performed around the world at numerous festivals, including Earth Garden (Japan), Stepping Stone Festival (South Korea), Clownia Festival (Catalonia), Festa Major Jove de Vic (Catalonia), Rrandom Music Festival (Spain), and more. They’re a blast of vintage Jamaican ska, straight from Tokyo. Don’t miss this party!
