Ash & Friends Quartet 匯聚來自英國、日本、加拿大與台灣的四位爵士音樂家，以跨越國界的默契與即興對話，帶來一場充滿活力與溫度的爵士之夜。
樂團以經典爵士為核心，融合 Swing、Cool Jazz、Latin Jazz、Acid Jazz 與 Afro-Latin Groove 等元素，重新演繹耳熟能詳的爵士名曲。時而輕鬆流暢、時而熱情奔放，在細膩的互動與豐富的節奏律動中，展現多元文化交織而成的獨特音樂風景。

Ash & Friends Quartet is an international ensemble of ‘Sappho amigos’ – musical collaborators with a current inclination to journey through a variety of jazz sub-genres such as latin, swing and cool jazz of the 1950s, as well as a chilled out treatment of some standard vocal songs. At times, the vibe can be reminiscent of an uncluttered, spacey ‘sound of the trio’ – but as a quartet this is bolstered by the presence of a saxophone in the mix, with the bow of the contra bass adding a different timbre from time to time.

All are seasoned musicians, drawing influences from a wide variety of genres and artists – thus although the setlist is comprised of mainly standard jazz tunes, many are interpreted with an acid jazz feel, or with Afrobeat or Latin groove. That said, echoes of Joe Henderson, Bill Evans and Slam Stewart may be heard in the quartet’s treatment of the original recordings of Thelonious Monk, Horace Silver, Jesse Greer etc., while some of the vocal numbers include a blend of ‘the established trailblazers’ with some time honoured classics.
